Dear
The EU (Withdrawal Arrangements) Bill, Second Reading 6 December, 9.30 am
I am writing to you as my Member of Parliament to ask you to attend the Second Reading debate of
the EU (Withdrawal Arrangements) Bill and to speak and vote in favour of it. This is vital for the
maintenance of functioning democracy for UK citizens, who are being stripped of their democratic
rights.
The Bill is the first item of business on Friday 6 th December, and it is anticipated that the debate will
run from 9.30 am to 2.30 pm.
This is a matter for the whole United Kingdom and not just Northern Ireland and one that I, as your
constituent, care deeply about.
As someone who believes strongly in our United Kingdom, I have long been concerned about the way Northern Ireland was left significantly under EU rule following Brexit. This has resulted in a border in the Irish Sea and Northern Ireland subject in 300 areas to EU laws. Such is wholly incompatible both with ‘taking back control’ and having a United Kingdom.

Now, there is an opportunity to do something about it. On 6th December a Private Member’s Bill, brought by Jim Allister and others, will directly address these issues by re-establishing the supremacy of UK law and providing for trade across the Irish border through mutual enforcement of the respective trade requirements of the recipient country.

I urge you to attend Parliament on 6th December and vote for this Bill.
Yours sincerely,
